Quotes that Help

This entry is for the quotes that may be of help in an abusive situation. I will keep updating this post as I keep coming across more and more quotes:

. “Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant or insecure, remember to whom you belong.”

.“When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty but of her weirdness ;
They wanted her to change back into what she had always been,
but she now had wings.”- Dean Jackson

“I took the stones that had been hurled on me and built and an altar. There, I gave thanks to the One who through it all never left my side." - Dean Jackson

.“Poisonous relationships can alter our perception. You can spend many years thinking you are worthless…but you are not worthless, you are unappreciated.”-Steve Maraboli

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.” Amelia Earhart

.“I am done looking for love where it doesn’t exist. I am done coughing up dust in attempts to drink from dry wells.”
―
Maggie Georgiana Young

.“Don't judge yourself by what others did to you.”

How to heal your mind?

Your mind can be the be your best and worst enemy; this is for you to take into consideration. Preferably, you should make it a your infinite source of unicorn dust (that you can spread everywhere). It is true that a hurt mind hurts as much as a wounded body and this has been proven by scientific research. In case, you have been pelted stones at, there is nothing to worry about!

1.       Meditate: There are different meditation techniques. Some techniques combine breathing along with meditation. Here are the steps of a technique that I have developed and use: (It is highly effective and takes less time.)
  1. Sit in the pose of 'pranayam' with your hands stretched and kept on your knees and your back straight.
   2. Close your eyes.
   3. Breathe in and count 1.
4.Hold that air in your mind
   5. Breathe out.
   6. Repeat!

2.       Get involved in a creative hobby: Do some painting, coloring or writing. All three of them are therapeutic. There are mandalas that are especially created for easing out stress.

3.       Spend time with Nature: Go for a walk or a jog; watch the sunrise; watch the sun-rays streaming through a crystal; watch the moon in the night. Remember that you belong to nature and are unique and respectable at the end of the day.

4.       Exercise your body: Enroll yourself in yoga, gyming or dancing classes. In this manner, you will meet new people and exercise as well. Exercising secretes a lot of positive hormones in the body.

5.       Stay hopeful: At the end of every fall, it is this hope that will make you last and that is called hopefulness!

6. Positive self-talk: It has been found that people who have been abused unconsciously start abusing themselves because they internalize the speech of the abuser. Therefore, use encouraging words while talking to yourself. There is a book: What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmsetter which can be referred to.
